Now that we have covered all of the hosting basics we can get to the good stuff! The beverages! Drinks are such a large part of any gathering, but particularly so during the holidays. It is one of the three ‘rules’ after all: Eat! DRINK! and be Merry! You can always just stick to the basics, a glass of wine, a rum and coke etc., or you can turn it up a notch! We have scoured Pinterest and found three cocktails which are sure to please all palates! And seeing as you are the host, you will likely need one or two of these yourself. 😉
Number one is “The Royal F”. We chose to add a little censorship here in the hopes of keeping things PG, but let me tell you one thing, this drink definitely lives up to its name! It combines two classic liqueurs and turns them into something wonderful! Top it off with some cranberry juice and pomegranates as a garnish and you have yourself a guaranteed crowd pleaser! We used a bit more than one ounce of cranberry to finish filling the glass because well, holy F!
Next up we have the “Jack Frost”. Any sweet tooth in the building will go b-a-n-a-n-a-s (or pineapple 🙂 ) for this sweet creation! Combine all ingredients in a shaker, mix well and then serve! We rimmed the glass with coconut shavings for an extra festive look! We are in LOVE with its ice blue colour and are positive all your guests will agree that it is Insta-worthy! This drink is so full of flavour we think it would best be served after dinner or during apps so it’s not to compete with the decadent flavours of your main meal! Because #letsbehonest, you want your beverages to compliment your food, not compete with it.
Last but not least we have, my personal fav, the “Festive Night Cap”! For all of the Baileys and coffee lovers alike! For such an easy recipe it is so wonderfully delicious! Simply freeze some coffee in ice cube trays, add one ounce of creme de cacao and voila! The perfect night cap to any evening! I may even keep this going year-round!
We hope you get a chance to make, and of course try, all of these delicious beverages! We are positive you and your guests will love them and they will be sure to set YOUR dinner party apart! Let us know what you think and of course as a couple of bevy connoisseurs ourselves we would love to know what your favourite festive beverages are… so feel free to share in the comments below! CHEERS!
Sincerely your friends,
Katie & Kristin
